But Paiste only makes the Accent cymbals in three sizes: 4, 6 and 8".
CL you know that Paiste cup chimes and accent cymbals are different products, right. He uses the accent cymbals.

Have they always made just those 3 sizes? We've had that little mounting bar he uses (Paiste) and the cymbals on it. I think it had five different accent cymbals on it. I also remember asking one of the guys at our shop what he used last time you posted this, and he said the accent cymbals. I first saw Gavin with PT a few years ago and talked with him after the show. He has hung out at our shop every tour stop sinc. We'll be having a clinic with him next year so next time I see him, I'll ask.
Cup Chimes come in 7 sizes. I have 5 of them on a bar like Gavin's.
Accent Cymbals come in the 3 sizes mentioned. I just sold mine in pursuit of these things, and due to my cup chimes which sound very similar to the accents (same material and paiste too).
Vdrummer - please do remember to ask him for all the details when you see him next, I'm sure he will be using them!!!
P.S. Does anyone have details on his new DVD!?
some of the cymbals are cut splash cymbals. i've seen gavin on the musikmesse frankfurt.
on some of the cymbals you can see the half of a zildjian logo print. (from cutting down to smaler sizes)
all the best
Clever bastard, that Gavin!
Time to start cutting...

Hi folks,
can't believe my little cymbals have caused such interest!!! It is true that I used Paiste Cup Chimes many years ago, but when I got asked to play drum clinics (being a Zildjian endorser) I had a go at cutting down some old broken 16" Zildjian crashes that I had in my garage. I copied the sizes from the 5 smallest cup chimes, and I loved the way they turned out. In fact I prefer them.
Recently Zildjian made me some (hence the logo) but some of the ones I made just have a certain vibe that I really like. One of the five cymbals is a splash cut down really small. I got a friend of mine to make me the support bar - about 15 years ago and it's still hanging in there.
I'm flattered by the interest, and thanks for the kind words about my playing in other threads.
all the best
